__ Zone 6 Competition in Zimbabwe _________________________________________

Visions continues its success up in Harare. All three Visions gymnasts that competed in the Zone 6
competition achieved the top spot on the podium for their respective levels.

Visions appears in ‘The Northside Chronicle’. The club was a buzz a few weeks ago when a
photographer pitched up to take pictures of the gymnasts that took part in the SA GYM Games
earlier in October. An article was written to highlight the incredible success that the club had at the

Congratulations to coach Nico and Marna on their engagement and to coach Melissa and Clive
on the birth of their little boy Caylim.

__ 2010…Another very successful year ____________________________________________________

As 2010 draws to a close, Visions can proudly look back at one of the most successful years on a competitive level. In
total, no less than 118 Visions gymnasts were selected to represent Central Gauteng in their respective age groups.
In total, 47 overall gold medals, 19 overall silver and 23 overall bronze medals were won by our level 1 to Olympic
gymnasts. In addition to this we can boast of winning 176 gold apparatus medals, 111 silver and 112 bronze individual
apparatus medals.  

In the Senior Olympic Men’s section, Michael Makings became the number 1 ranked gymnast in the country and
represented SA at the 2010 World Championships . Michael was awarded Senior Protea colours for this event.
Congratulations to Derick Scholtz, Senior Protea coach. Michael was also awarded Senior Protea colours for
representing SA at the African Championships held earlier in the year. At the 2010 Gauteng Prize Giving, Michael
was awarded for the highest mark achieved at nationals as well as Senior Gymnasts of the Year for 2010.   

Bianca Mann was awarded Junior Protea colours for representing SA at the African Championships which was held in
Namibia where the SA Junior team won overall gold and Bianca won a bronze medal on vault.      

3 of our gymnasts and 2 of our coaches were awarded SAGF Federation colours and will be representing the Federation
at the Zone 6 competition in Zimbabwe during December. Well done and good luck to Tania Luckay, Sasha-Lee Taylor
and Keagan Pearson and coaches Melissa Kolbe and Nico Kruger

Congratulations to all our gymnasts and coaches. Maxwell Dube won the Gauteng Novice coach of the year award for
2010, Nico Kruger the Tyro Levels coach of the year and Derick Scholtz the Elite coach of the year award.

Year end and start in 2011     
The last day of gym (Hillfox branch only) for 2010 will be Saturday 11 December. Last day at Boskruin branch will be
Monday 6 December. Pecanwood and Beaulieu branches have already close due to private school terms.
The gym will re-open on Monday 10 January 2011. Time schedules and groups for 2011 will be emailed to you
during December.  

__ Michael off to the World Championships in Netherlands _____________________________________

CONGRATULATIONS to all the gymnasts that participated in the SA Gym Games that took at the Mat Sport
Centre in Eldoraigne. The Visions Gymnastics club gymnasts had an amazing weekend, producing ...

12 National Champions!!

In two sections, Tyro 1 - 12 & U (competing against 12 other gymnasts) and Tyro 2 - 14 & U (competing agsinst
32 other gymnasts) Visions took all the honours by obtaining 1st, 2nd   & 3rd place overall.

                                We are incredibly proud of all who competed!!!

Nico held a inhouse ceremony to celebrate the achievements of his boys at the  SA Gym Games. 14 of his
gymnastics competed, and between them they brought home:

22 Gold, 16 Silver & 15 Bronze medals
